How to get GarageBand for free on iPod touch?

I googled it and this webpage came up:

Get Apple apps for free on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

according to this, my 16GB iPod touch 6th gen is eligible to get GarageBand. But when I go into the App Store, it still comes up with the price (note it is in AUD)

Hi Charlie, yes you can get them free. The answer is in the Apple Support Topic you linked to:

Find and download Apple apps

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  3. Under Quick Links, tap Apps Made by Apple.
  4. Tap the apps that you want to download User uploaded file. To download apps larger than 100 MB, your device needs to be connected to a Wi-Fi network.
