How to convert live photos downloaded on iMac to still photos

What exactly do you mean by "live" photo vs "still" photo? All photos are "stills" as far as I've known.

To be honest, I've decided that the live feature is not really worthwhile and simply ignore it (and I must admit that I cannot figure how/why it seems to turn itself on); I've air dropped quite a few to my iMac from my iPad Pro and simply use the picture and have not had a problem with that.

I see. Well, until just recently I didn't even know what "Live Photos" are. I know how I would do it in QuickTime Player 7 Pro but that's not available anymore. Perhaps someone else will know how to save it as an image sequence.

That's interesting because my live photos were air dropped to my iMac (from my iPad) and did not show as a video. Try the settings in Photos (on your iPhone) to see if you can "disassociate" the live feature from it or use a still from it. Other than that, I haven't played with that enough to help further, except:

I'm not sure if this question would be best on an iPhone or Photos for Mac forum - I will ask the hosts to move this thread to the Photos for iMac for now as we have some very knowledgeable people there and I think it may have to do with that app.

I do not have an iPhone 6 so do not have any experience with live photos but have read about them and seen other posts - they are a still photo with an attached 3 second video

I expect that if you use the media browser in Safari to upload your photo to Shuterfly it will upload only the still photo - if that does not work select the photos and export (file menu ==> export) as a JPEG and you should get only the still image adn then upload the exported photo

And it would help if you told us what version of the OS and of Photos you have, what you have tried and exactly what the results were for each including any error messages
