But it says I have 2.2gb of mail stored on the icloud.
Today I can't see any of my emails in my inbox or on the icloud. It looks as if I have deleted them all. Except I know I haven't.
Also, I don't have 2.2gb worth of emails in my sent items.
Anyone have a clue as to whats going on?

Try rebuilding the mailbox.
If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3.

We have a MacBook Pro, an iMac Desktop, an iPhone & iPad. I have my iCloud email on both the desktop and the MacBook. My wife has hers on the desktop and the IOS devices. She appears to have lost the whole iCloud Inbox with messages dated back over 4 years on both her IOS devices and her account on the desktop. This does not appear to be a hardware problem. What can explain this?
