Hi, jpwill123!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! After reading your post, I see that your Apple Music app is quitting unexpectedly, which began after you updated your iOS software. I love Apple Music, and listen to it frequently, so I definitely want to help make sure your app is working!

I've got some troubleshooting you can go through. Try the steps in order, stopping once the issue has been resolved.

  1. Quit the Music app. You can find instructions on how to quit an app here: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  2. Restart the iPhone. Instructions on restarting can be found here: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  3. Reset the settings on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not remove any of your content (like pictures, Notes, calendar events, Reminders and contacts) but it will revert customizable settings (wallpaper and display brightness, alert sounds and ringtones, Date & Time settings, etc) back to their factory defaults. It will also remove any saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords, as well as any previously used VPN or APN settings.
  4. Back up your iPhone, and restore it to factory settings. You can use iCloud or iTunes to create a backup, following instructions in the article listed here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once a backup is created, you can use the instructions in the following article to restore the iPhone using iTunes on a computer: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

After restoring, set your iPhone up as a new device (meaning without your backup, at least temporarily). You may sign into iCloud, FaceTime and iMessage, and the iTunes and App Stores using your Apple ID.
  5. If everything works while the iPhone is set up as a new device, you can restore your backup following these instructions: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Have a great day!
