Question

Hotspot is connected but shows offline on connected device

ON my iPhone 4 my wifi/Bluetooth hotspot appears to be working normally and my other device is tethered . yet displays an offline status in browser. I have tried all of the suggested steps . My orher device connects to any other wifi network effortlessly & yes I have full data plan & it's paid and it used to work fine.

Try holding down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything.

Also try resetting Network Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note that this will delete all your previously saved network passwords but could resolve the issue.
