tmp folder is not syncing with iCloud drive

I found that if you create a folder on your computer and name it 'tmp' the contents of this folder is not syncing with iCloud drive.

Rename it or move inclosed files to another location and they will start syncing.


Let me know if I'm wrong.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

You are absolutely right. Any directory with the name 'tmp' within Documents or Desktop will not sync.


Along with this any filename containing '.tmp' or '.nosync' also won't sync. it's a pain if you stumble upon it by accident, but it can be used to your advantage, for example to exclude backup files. (for example: the file "foo.nosync.bar" won't sync)
