Is an unlocked verizon iPhone 7 going to work with T-Mobile network?

I am waiting to buy an iPhone 7. I am currently using T-Mobile, but I will probably be using CDMA based network when I am spending my winter in China. Does anyone know if an unlocked verizon iPhone 7 is going to support T-Mobile network? Thanks a lot

If you look at the specs for each phone, you'll note that the CDMA variants support the very same GSM bands that the ATT and Tmobile phones do.

That part is crystal clear. It is the LTE support that is confusing. Looking at their (A1660, A1661) specs, I'd expect them to be fully compatible with all US carriers.

So far as I am aware, in your case you will want to buy the verizon version of this phone from Apple directly. It is unlocked, and per their own documentation the verizon version has the ability to work on GSM networks, but the ATT/TMob versions do not have the ability to work on CDMA carriers. In your particular case. I cannot speak to the compatibility of the phones in china. This info may be helpful, but as we've established already it is not complete:

The list above does not show AT&T or T-Mobile but it does show Cricket Wireless which runs on the AT&T network along with Metro PCS which runs on the T-Mobile network. As others have stated the Sprint & Verizon phones will work on all major U.S. wireless carriers while the AT&T/T-Mobile model will not work on Sprint or Verizon.

I can second this. I purchased a Verizon iPhone 7 Plus in an Apple Store yesterday and am successfully using it with T-Mobile with no issues. However, I initially activated the iPhone with a Verizon SIM which I have for work. I then put my T-Mobile SIM in afterwards. I do NOT know what would have happened if the *first* SIM I tried had been T-Mobile. In other words, does the Verizon (or Sprint) iPhone have to be activated FIRST on Verizon (or Sprint) before other carriers will work? I don't know and I haven't seen any firm answers on this.

No, you shouldn't need to put a Verizon SIM in the phone first.
