Is an unlocked verizon iPhone 7 going to work with T-Mobile network?

I am waiting to buy an iPhone 7. I am currently using T-Mobile, but I will probably be using CDMA based network when I am spending my winter in China. Does anyone know if an unlocked verizon iPhone 7 is going to support T-Mobile network? Thanks a lot

For me it is clear that the UNLOCKED Verizon iPhone 7 will work with any GSM or CDMA carrier within USA. What I want to know is whether it will work with any GSM carrier worldwide?

in other words, it is UNLOCKED to work with any carrier in USA or is UNLOCKED to work with any GSM carrier worldwide?

I ask this because I often travel down to Central and South America where most of the carriers are GSM, and I usually switch to a local SIM card.

Currently I do this with my SIM-free iPhone 6 perfectly, but I want to know if I can do the same with UNLOCKED Verizon iPhone 7.

Thanks

Hi Zhongyuan!

I'm currently live in Shanghai, using China Unicom (WCDMA). I use verizon model (A1533)of iphone 5s and it works perfect with my carrier, but i tried to switch the sim card to China Telecom (CDMA), everything works fine expect it doesn't show 4G network on it (only 3g). So, I think whether you buy unlocked or contract based iphone from verizon, it will always be unlocked which works in most part of the world. I hope this help and gain your confidence in buying the verizon iphone. 🙂

The ATT and T-Mobile versions have an Intel chip while the CDMA/GSM Verizon and Sprint variants(as well as unlocked) utilize Qualcomm x12 chips. Tim Cook is utilizing the 'dual supplier' method of production. Whereas Apple can put pressure on either company with claims the other producer is offering a better value. The Intel chip being used hasn't been used in cell phones thus far, despite being available since 2015 and the Qualcomm X12 is considered the gold standard and found in the Galaxy 7edge among other new smartphones.

Though it's unknown is there is an advantage one chip posses over the other, other than Intel's lack of CDMA support(the first iPhones used iPhones and was the reason Verizon and other CDMA providers had to wait), when a similar situation occurred, the verdict was the performance difference was equivalent to that of the variation found in chips of the same model so investigation wasn't warranted.
