how to charge iPhone7 while using headphones

... in the evening my phones battery is low normally, but I want to listen to an audio book in bed before sleeping. How to charge the iphone7 while the headphones are plugged in?

One slot for audio output and charging means no chance to get the battery charged while listenning to musik or watching serials with headphones on.

iPhone7, even more with BT earphones, is a mobile device forced to be next to a socket all the time just to keep all batteries of all devices charged rotationaly, I fear. Or is there another adapter for our new Wonderfull Wireless World?

Sorry.

All the information that we currently have was released at the presentation yesterday. One of the things that was stressed was the longer battery life of the new phones.

You can certainly listen to anything you want using BT headsets while charging your device. Whether or not there will be other options has yet to be determined.

Just in case. BT headphone’s battery is low ... and the new better iPhone7 battery is low, too? This might happen, I'm more or less sure. Thinking of some days on the camping yard with the kids or some other strange behavior. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I can not find a solution for that issue. I think about that since I've watched the presetation yesterday ... on my iPhone with my headphones on and pluged in to charge cause the battery was low. It was in the evening.

But ... anyway. Maybe not the right place to disscus that as KiltedTim mentioned.

Well, still not satisfied ;-)

The Dock. Yes. Another device I have to take with me and I have to buy additionally. Usually the iPhone is next to my bed, sometimes on my bed. Will the Dock work standing on my bed next to the pillow? I’m so sorry, but thinking about that one missing 3,5mm jack made my day.

What a mishap:

180€ BT ear phones, plus Dock 60€ — the 3,5mm adaptor for my own headphones, and the headphones themselves (just in case the battery of the AirPods is low), an USB to Lightning cable and the power adaptor, the charging unit for the AirPods and an additional cable for this charging unit. That is what I will need take with me when I go camping for three weeks with an iPhone7? Just to be sure I can charge and listen the same time and/or listen every time I want. Am I wrong?

With my 5s I need my headphones, the USB to Lightning cable and the power adaptor.

Or think about a long flight, maybe to Australia. Airports, changing planes, no sockets, my kids want to watch or play something on the phone, all at the same time in the aircraft. Loud environment, you may know. I used a 3,5mm adaptor with two jacks to get the kids’ headphones connected to the iPhone/iPad. (Two of those adaptors and you can connect three headphones) Well, tell me (sorry, no: ask Apple) how to proceed with two or three kids on one device without a 3,5mm jack when the battery is low.

And sure, strange behavior once again. Every kid can have its own device. Yes, and they already have. But sometimes kids really want to watch one movie together at the same time one device.

BTW.

Can I pair two or more pairs of BT AirPods with the iPhone7? Not talking about what might happen with six single AirPods, three kids in one aircraft for 12 hours. How many AirPods you have left when the family is leaving the plain?

puhua , and thinking about that, I fear the next generation iPad will also come without a headphone jack?

Will keep my 5s. Just in case.

Over and Out.

Sorry for all the trouble ;-)

I've already seen (and I don't remember where) an adapter that allows charging and a headphone connection through the iPhone 7 lightning port. I'm sure there will be several soon.

I have a mobile power pack that can charge an iPhone, a BT headset and an iPad, all at the same time. I've had it for over a year.

I'm really thrilled at the idea of stereo speakers on the 7, and a water resistant 7, and I happily accept that you can't have those features and a headset jack.

Sure, the new iPhone7 is a step ahead. But why one has to accept poor new solutions for such simple things like listening to music and charging the device? Adding stereo speakers cool, and water and dust resistance useful, I agree. Want that, too. But don’t get me wrong: The AirPods are not part of the standard equipment of an iPhone7. A connector to charge and listen at the same time is not within the iPhone7 package, too. So maybe the headphone jack is not needed in the future if there are smart solutions for the most common things of usage. And that does not mean additional connectors or additional technical equipment are smart solutions. It means rethinking how to bring all those single parts together again.

A power adapter with included charging unit for the AirPods and the AirPods shipped with every 7, or just a cable to charge the phone with included connector to Lightning headphones and the headphones. That is the minimum setup I expect from a leading and innovative design company like Apple is.

The setup Apple plans to ship is just poor. Pardon!
