Why can't I leave a group message in iOS 10?

I recently updated to the first installment of iOS 10. There is a group chat in my messages that I no longer wish to be a part of. I can't figure out how to leave the conversation though.

i did the following steps.

1: Opened the message/conversation

2; Tapped the little "details" icon in the top right

3: I scrolled down but there is not a button that says "Leave Conversation"

it is very weird because I have another group chat that I am a part of and when I check on it, there is a button that says "Leave Conversation". I don't understand why one group chat has the button, but the other one doesn't.

iPhone 6s, Operating System is 10.0.1

Didn't say it was coworkers texting in a group chat. So HR wouldn't need to be contacted. The link was already used and the same thing was sent to them.

So... either you have a solution to be able to remove yourself from the group text or you don't. I simple stated I have the same issue and am plumb sick of it. It's a coding flaw that they made and need to fix.

If I did the above at my job, I wouldn't be employed. Sure, humans make mistakes. But this has been going on for well over a year and they haven't done squat about fixing their mess up.

If people at your job are posting explicit pictures on a group chat, I'd suggest contacting HR. Or, enjoy them, depending on your proclivities.

Apple is not reading here for suggestions. If you want them to know what you think, use the feedback page:

I thought Apple employed the most brilliant software (and hardware) engineers on the planet....Don't you think this could be an update, or somehow resolved?

I hate to ask the group text initiators to ask to remove me...seems rude, but they put us in this position...BUH! 🙂

Apple really dropped the ball on this one. I do hope they message me that they took down my response, but this **** is ridiculous!

I use my phone for work related tech support when servers go down or we have outages. I get put in a group text while I'm working late with my other go-workers and then all of a sudden we hear "ding! Ding! ding ding ding! DING EFFIN DING"

I go try and remove myself from the **** group chat and nope! Can't because some one on it is a **** android user!? *** Apple!? Fix your pos coding!

Thankfully there is a Do Not Disturb option, but I don't want to see any of the **** that is being messaged! What if it was some showing their genetalia? You expect me to ask them to stop the chat? Like they would do that? Oh.. bless their hearts. Get real! Fix it!

I'm a group chat administrator and. Ow I can't remove ppl I guess because there's an android user on the chat. Not sure what to do. Come on Apple, this should be fixed.

Apple is not reading here. Use the feedback link already provide.

Meanwhile, use a dedicated group chat app. They're better designed for the purpose anyway.

You will need to add someone to the group chat and then you can remove yourself, there always needs to be 3 people in a group chat so if you maintain that you can leave how you normally would. I'm not sure however, if the person you add can remove themselves from the group chat.

That seems to be the case for me, the op is not on an ios device, because her bubble is green. This is really annoying though... I tapped do not disturb which prevent my phone from sounding like a percolator, but I would prefer being able to have an option for opting out of the entire group!
