iOS 10 Install killed my iPhone

I had a 5c and after installing iOS 10 it completely shut down my phone and I had to go to apple and buy a new one, I have a 6s now and the same thing Is happening, it keeps turning off randomly I hope it doesn't shut down completely this time

Hi I had same problem with my iphone 6 when trying to install the new update and had the same problem as your having i took my phone and diagnostics done which found that the nand flash memory chip was fried the same company has had numerous customers experiencing the same problem.

i try to avoid upgrade for many months. But at last i did it wrongly.... now my phone like 1996 model computer... it works extremaly slow. Also most of the apps (i upgrade them too) don’t work well like instagram. Even apple own notes don’t work good... So please fix that.

the server is probably besieged by everyone who was compelled to install iOS 10 on day one.

restore the phone with itunes to it's former configuration, hopefully you made a backup as Apple recommended.

I had the same issue. Oh boy Apple got me! Never had such a problem on upgrade. My phone was the SE.

You can connect to iTunes and restore your device. Right now, this will send you back to 9.3.5. There seems to be issues with over the air updates.

Itunes had an update out, before I updated it wanted 9.3.5, after I just updated itunes it let's me go to 10.0.1

I have the same iPhone 6S with 128GB. I tried the update over wifi with the phone plugged into the charger. Got the connect to iTunes screen where it told me there was a problem with the update to IOS 10. Thankfully by connecting to iTunes it was able to recover the phone back to IOS 9.3.5 with no loss of data. I am now attempting the IOS 10 upgrade via connected to iTunes. If I have a problem I will return to this post with an update. If no news I was successful. Bottom line.....back up your phone before upgrading to IOS 10. Otherwise you are half to blame since Apple highly recommends backing up your phone prior to any IOS update.

Read my other post below. Connect to iTunes and you will probably be fine. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer before starting.

what do we do if we are away from home on holiday and don't have access to a Mac or PCs . Our iPad is stuck on a screen showing the need to connect to iTunes. Are we stuck like this for the next week ?

i'm getting ready to start downloading, but i'm checking the forums first to see problems that may be happening. two things i noticed were

1) it says to update iTunes before starting and

2) iTunes very clearly states, "Connect this iPhone using a USB cable in order to update or restore its software."

but i also i learned along time ago (the hard way) and have this thing about reading directions before doing something major. so, thanks, machz900, for stating the obvious! so many of the problems people are reporting seem to be ignoring this!

I agree with you. I am trying to update one last time. I went through iTunes and I am upset as well.
