iOS 10 - How to group notifications by app?

Johnkzin: The left/right function works when you have your iPad rotated into landscape mode. But only when you swipe right, not on the "home" notification screen.

braing30: unless you're using an app that doesn't allow landscape mode (like if you invoke notification center from the home page / finder-equivalent). In that situation, notification center doesn't change orientation. I noticed that later, after I had posted my previous comment.

I actually called support and yes this is no longer an offered feature with the new ios and in order to get this feature back everyone needs to go to apple.com/feedback and report that you would like it back and with the next update they may do that if enough people request it.

I see someone already provide the link before I posted but yes everyone please report.

Please bring this back. It was the best way for me to stay organized. Not everyone's brain works by date only.

Just want to say ditto - please Apple put the ability to group by app back in the settings. Annoying for something used so often to not have that option.

There's not much point in saying it to Apple here. If you really want them to know how you feel, submit feedback where they'll actually see it.

Please bring this option back !

Whilst I agree this feature should be brought back as its much neater and quicker, if you're looking for a way to clear notifications you don't want without clearing the entire 'day', its possible.

Simply hard-press on the notification, it will blow up, then click the X in the upper right corner to delete the single notification.

Again, I realize its a longer process than simply clearing all notifications from a particular app in one shot, but may satisfy in the meanwhile.

Same for me. I went to the feedback site and submitted my request. Why would they think that it was ok to "remove" this feature? Seems ignorant to take it away. It can't possibly be very many lines of code to have this option.

Can you please put that back.

I totally agree. What's worse is that Apple never seems to offer an alternative or customisable way of displaying such things.

Apple, let us display the notifications how we want !!!!

Had the same question. Disappointed to see here that they removed this feature. Not a fan of the new notification center...looks pretty messy now. And not being able to sort and group by app is terrible 😟

I provided feedback to Apple. Hopefully they re-add this feature!

Grouping notifications by app is (was) wonderful! If you have 10's or 100's of notifications across multiple apps, it is VERY difficult to scan through them having to re-focus your train of thought every other message. Please bring this back!
