yes, if you are downloading iTunes from the App Store the detection your AV is providing is called a false positive.

and as an added bonus can lead to serious problems which are already inherent with Mac Anti-Virus solutions which have been well documented on this forum.
Remove whatever crapware anti-virus snake oil you hopefully never had to pay for because I smack a hard drive with a hammer for $19.95 and get the same result on a mac.
I believe we're in iTunes for Windows territory, which rules out the Mac app store as the download source. 😉

From the Apple Software update app on my windows as I normally do it. I used Webroot...Thanks for your help. Installer worked just fine, after a quick antivirus disable...
