iOS 10 Mail delete all function?

I Have just installed the new ios10 update and for some reason have lost the delete/trash all function in the mail app.

The delete button is greyed out and when you select all, you can only flag a post of mark as read/unread.

Am I missing something?

Hi, I assume you found a way to solve this but I had same problem and found this solution .. just in case anyone else is looking ..

- go to inbox

- click on edit

- select the top message only

- select the MOVE button at the bottom and hold it

- unselect the top message

- all messages will go into one and open in a fresh window - it will tell you how many there are - then click on the trash can below it .. all mail in that inbox will be deleted

Hi,

Found this on another site. Ugly but works...

Just Found this solution on the cult of mac website:

You can still trash all emails at once... it's just more convoluted.

Go to your inbox, Tap Edit, then Mark All, and then Mark All as Read. This will then close the Edit mode.

Tap Edit again, and tap the top message in the inbox. Press and hold the Move button with your thumb.

While holding the Move button, uncheck the top message, and then release the Move button.

You will then be on a screen with a trash icon, click it and your emails are deleted.

Not quite as simples as the old way but it solves the problem.

Thanks for posting this link. iOS 10 disabled one of my POP email accounts and the only fix is the delete the account then re-Add the account. Well this resulted in thousands of email being downloaded to my iphone. The process in the link leaves out one important factor. You must manually delete one email to create the Trash folder or you cannot move the selected emails to the Trash. Mark all of the as Read was not necessary for me. YMMV.
