iOS 10 Mail delete all function?

I Have just installed the new ios10 update and for some reason have lost the delete/trash all function in the mail app.

The delete button is greyed out and when you select all, you can only flag a post of mark as read/unread.

Am I missing something?

iPhone 6, iOS 10

Hi, I assume you found a way to solve this but I had same problem and found this solution .. just in case anyone else is looking ..

- go to inbox

- click on edit

- select the top message only

- select the MOVE button at the bottom and hold it

- unselect the top message

- all messages will go into one and open in a fresh window - it will tell you how many there are - then click on the trash can below it .. all mail in that inbox will be deleted

No, this is not a bug. It is an arbitrary, purposeful Apple decision to play nanny and save us from ourselves. Further, the workaround is extremely difficult to impossible for people who only have the use of one hand. No, it is not the end of the world, but it is a major step backward in functionality and useability. Apple should re-add the Trash All/Delete All functionality in the next release of iOS 10, presumably 10.0.3.

It's a bit of a pain in the *** but I found this work around:

>> Open Inbox >> Edit >> Mark All >> Mark As Read

>> Open Inbox >> Edit >> Check/select the top message; it will highlight the move button.

>> Press and hold the move button and uncheck the message that you had checked earlier.

>> Lift all your fingers off from the ipad screen. iphone will give you the actual number of emails it has selected for the action.

>> Choose trash to delete all of them or any other folder where u want to move them, like one piece. Remember this will replicate your action on the server so you will ACTUALLY move them or delete them on the server and not just the iphone.
