iOS 10 - Emoji's not appearing in predictive text

Updated to iOS 10 today. Still playing around with it and trying to figure things out. However one thing that a few friends of mine can do that my iPhone won't is display an emoji in the predictive text section once you enter a word that has an associated emoji.

I've tried disable/enable predictive text, resetting text dictionary and adding and removing keyboards and languages like suggested online. Also tried changing these settings and hard/soft resetting the phone. No dice.

Now I'm SOL cause I wiped my dictionary clean that I've been building up for some time. Back to the auto-correct "duck" if you know what I mean 🙂

A couple colleges at work can get emoji's in predictive text while myself and another person cannot.

This feature does not seem to work anywhere in the phone, iMessage, Notes, Email ... etc.

Anyone else having this issue reading this?

I'm using an iPhone 6S Plus.

Thanks

Solved all the issues.

1. To make the mobile or email suggestion work :-

Type "John's mobile is " --- It should suggest the number

Type "John's email is " --- It should suggest the email

Type "My address is " --- It should suggest the address provided you have address saved under your contact details

Type "John's birthday is " --- It should suggest the date in format "Month day" provided you have saved his birthday under contact details

2. For location suggestion :-

Type "I am currently at " --- It should suggest you to share the location and you have to allow for sharing location from settings

3. For calendar suggestion :-

Take and example that you have some meeting scheduled on your calendar tomorrow. Then type on message like "Tomorrow I am free at " --- It will show the free timing as an suggestive option. if you do not have anything scheduled on your calendar then the option wont come, may be application thinks that you are free for whole day 🙂.

Hope this helps.

I also have the same problem.

Worked immediately on my iPhone after installing iOS 10 and has never worked on my iPad Pro so it has absolutely nothing to do with learning.

On my iPhone when I'm in messages as soon as I type the word "car" a little car automatically appears as a suggestion however on my iPad I have to press the emoji keyboard to get that to happen.

I have done all the various reset suggested on the Internet and nothing fixes it.

That solution worked for me, but it seems you have to use this method in each application to bring up these "predictive emoji" - e.g. if you send yourself an iMessage with loads of emoji, it turns on the feature, but will not also do so in Whatsapp - you have to also send yourself (or anyone, I assume) several emoji in Whatsapp and the predictive emoji then also works in Whatsapp.✅🙂

Good evening everyone. I had the same problem on one of my 2 iPhone 6, updated to IOS 10.0.1

In few words one was not having predictive emoji, while the other yes.

I tried everything I could find over the internet (enabling and disabling predictions, removing keyboards, etc), NO WAY!

I was ready to give up when I discovered a difference in the two iPhones:

the one where the emoji where not working didn't have any dictionary enabled

the one where the emoji where working have Apple and Oxford dictionary enabled

As I enabled the dictionary in the second phone I immediately got the predictive emoji.

I hope it will work for you as well

Best regards
