iOS 10 weather and WhatsApp issues

i have the same problem, i can see the messages as notifications but when i open de app it automatically closes.

Turn of whatsapp access to contacts in phone setting

also reset location and privacy in phone settings

it will satrt working

only u may not be able to make whatsapp calls

am sure apple or whtsapp will come out with a solution for this shortly

Yes, this is working. A few people I know seem to all have had this problem at the same time. **** it, lost all their history because they reset Whatsapp. Is this something to do with the Microsoft takeover?? Privacy settings?? Worrying.

Genius!!!! Thank you very much, JBV Prasad! That totally fixed. The issue was the contacts for me. I re-installed the app, and answered no to the two first questions (one about allowing access to contacts, the second... ? I can't remember : p ), and it started to work! Thank you so much! Too bad I deleted the app, since it was the option everyone was telling me to do. And now experimenting with the desktop app. Have a good night. 🙂

Yes it does work. The problem now is I can't add no one from my contacts to chat with...

IT worked!!! ....but i cant start new conversations , see the name of the person who i am talking with and lost all my shared media .

im hoping whatsapp would fix this soon enough

You can still add each person at a time, by just typing their cell number:

Click on the icon to start a message => Type the number => Click Done => You will get a message that you are starting a chat => Click ok => Type your message & send it. : )

Another way is to ask your contacts to send you a message.

Thanks for the help NYCREFB, but each time I want to add a number, a screen appears asking me to give the app permission to access the contacts list. I could not find a way to type any number, that it is not already in my available chat list. Perhaps I am not doing it correctly.

The "ask my friends" solution is a good one.

I have the same problem on my iPhone 7 plus

go to settings and turn off the access to contacts and notifications. That is what fixed the issues for me. Good luck

For whatsapp location I found something that works.

Light press for 2 seconds on the location sent to you -

When the menu shows press COPY

Go to Safari and PASTE what was copied

This will take you to the location and will give you the option to open in Google Maps.
