After update to iOS10, the notes app was crashing. I noticed the app crashes as soon as it tries to make connection to cloud. The app works normal if I open the Notes app in Airplane mode
Did anyone experience this issue or know how to resolve this?

I have same issue on my iPhone6 since yesterday's iOS 10 upgrade 😟
Note crashes after 2 seconds. => totally unusable
(I confirm also that there is no crash on airplane mode)
I have the same issue after upgrading from 9.3.5 to 10 (iPhone 6 Plus).
Please note that I had "dismiss Google Keep" to migrate to Apple Note, and I pay for iCloud account 2.99€/month.
I mean, it's not free, so what I have to do, reinstall Google Keep?

I've just experienced this issue. And I think I solved it. In iCloud settings turn off Notes, let it delete iCloud notes from the device, then turn in on back. On the next app start the device will redownload all iCloud notes.
Now the notes app is not crashing.
Your workaround is working perfectly, but a user doesn't have to solve these problems.. so Apple should still solve it.
Anyway, thanks a lot 🙂 very clever solutions for now 🙂

I Had this issue in the beta as well and told them. still no fix. app keeps crashing when opening. I only have SoundCloud open

A simpler solution is to sign in to icloud and edit one of your notes there. This will force the sync down to your device and it *should* no longer crash.
