Why I cannot download GarageBand for iOS 9 to my iPad 2 after iOS 10 release. I can have the older version there, but I really need that app :-)

You've obtained GarageBand for iOS using iTunes. Great. Now this is how you get it on your device:

Redownload an app

You can redownload apps on your iPhone or iPod touch, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV (4th generation). You can also redownload some in-app purchases.

On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Open the App Store app.
  2. On an iPhone or iPod touch: Tap Updates, then tap Purchased.
    On an iPad: Tap Purchased.
  3. Tap "Not on This [device]."
  4. Find the app that you want to download, then tap User uploaded file . The app downloads to your device.

No it doesn't. It tells you that it requires ios 10.3 or later and does not give you the option to download an older version.

Even when you download it from the iTunes application on your computer, and sync you device with your iTunes, the app store will not give you the option to download earlier versions of the Garageband app whatsoever.

Please, if you can, provide more methods for troubleshooting this problem, because the methods you are suggesting are simply not working at all.

What do you mean by "not exactly" and "keeps happening"?

Do your purchase history in iTunes confirm that you've obtained GarageBand for iOS with your Apple ID?

Are you logged into the App Store on your device with the same Apple ID?

Does GarageBand for iOS show in the Purchased section of the App Store on the device?

Could GarageBand be installed already and hiding in a folder? Try a Spotlight search.

Let it be known, I did purchase this on my iPad. It gave me the same message when I would try to press "Get". Then I tried downloading it via iTunes hoping it would give me an older version and sadly it did not. My iPad is a Gen 3.

I legit only want GarageBand as means of having a mobile DAW. I wanna try out this older product called the "Behringer iStudio" that essentially acts as an audio interface for your iOS device.

Relatively an older product, but according to a lot of its reviews, people claim it is an amazing product to work with, plus it works best with GarageBand.

Although I can spend more money just to get Cubasis 2, I'd REALLY rather not considering I paid good money for GarageBand.

it doesn't worth the time , my friend ,

even if u can eventually solve that , it just not worth the time for majority of us whom having the same problem ,

and they are making a point to make this difficult for us have the old Ipad or whatever , so at least majority of us either buy a new iPad , or just shut the F up about it.

I just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I had the same experience. I read every post from beginning to end never being able to download GB again after having deleted it. Then suddenly yesterday I happened to try it again a month+ later and it worked.

Perhaps apple has changed something. Regardless, I encourage you to try again if you have not recently done so.
