Activity sharing not working at all

I'm having problems with activity sharing. I have two friends, both are on iOS 10 and watchOS3. I can add them, they get the notification and agree and then NOTHING happens. The wheel in the activity app on iOS keeps spinning and spinning. Anyone experienced this? Tried to delete the invitations and re-submit, but not working either.

The issue is the @icloud.com and @me.com Apple ID's.

Change your Apple ID email address to a non Apple one, I used a gmail one and it worked immediately after. Only one of you needs to do this for the invites to work.

This only takes 5 mins to change. Just remember to sign back into iCloud on you phone with the new Apple ID.

Let us know if it works.

I'm not so sure it's as cut and dry as the @icloud.com and @me.com addresses. As I mentioned in my first reply, I changed my login from the @me.com to the @icloud.com Apple ID and also removed some old Apple Watch devices from my account. I know it is easy to change your Apple ID, but I didn't have to, so maybe it's only the @me.com email that is a problem. Of course if my method doesn't work, then he may have to change at least one Apple ID as you suggested. Too bad it doesn't "just work".

Thanks Everyone - It worked!

I logged out of icloud as I was logged in using my gmail although I have a @icloud.com email that can also log in. They are alias's i guess?

Anyways logged back into the icloud on my phone using the @icloud.com email not my gmail. Turned on and off. Then sent the invite for activity sharing and instantly worked. Im not sure if it would of worked if I just logged out and logged in again to using my gmail.. It might of just needed to reset? E

Thanks

I managed to fix this. I have an old iCloud account (ending in @me.com). I had signed into iCloud on my iPhone using this @me address.

To resolve the issue, I signed out and signed back in but used @icloud.com as the domain at the end. Then I resent the sharing request, accepted on my wife's phone and things worked after about a minute.
