IOS 10 and contact custom ringtones

For me it works with 10.1 since yesterday on my Iphone 6 Plus

Yes, sorry, I've chatted with the Apple support and setting a default ringtone and then a custom one, solved the issue. Now it works!

I also had this problem. The latest update IOS 10.1 and re-booting fixed it! 🙂

Let me ask you guys something: From what I've read in order to setup custom ringtones on an iPhone you need to have the sound file in the M4R format and it has to be 30 seconds or less. I have numerous ringtones that I tried to drag into iTunes while my iPhone 6s is plugged in (latest 10.1.x software) and although they appear under "TONES" they aren't solid/bold like the way my songs look in iTunes. When I tried adding a new TONE it said it couldn't transfer it because the file couldn't be played on my iphone.

Can someone give me a brief walk through on how to add custom ringtones? I'm going crazy with this. It's stuff like this that makes me wish I stayed on Android!

I record all my custom ringtones by myself with Garage Band. Then, I export the custom ringtones to iTunes.

Sometimes Garage Band show this window. I don't know, but maybe the text contains the solution to your problem.

they've deleted my custom tones also.

Selling your iPhone an going back to Android is the best thing you can do. Apple makes money selling music, apps an videos. Computers and mobiles are not important to Apple.

The thought has crossed my mind! However, I found that spending the $5 for GarageBand app made it pretty easy to upload your own ringtones.

You're right though. On Android it could have been done with no hassles.

Sorry probable was not clear. The custom ring tone deletes from the contact not the phone

Same thing here. Everything is gone except for the lame stock ringtones.
