Bluetooth Connection Issues ios 10

Ever since upgrading to ios 10. My bluetooth connection in my car (2016 Hyundai Sonata) keeps connected and disconnecting every few minutes. This never happened pre-upgrade. Is anyone else experience this?

Response from BMW:

"Thanks for contacting the BMW Genius Team regarding the Apple iPhone 7.

We are aware of the concerns you speak of and we are currently working directly with Apple to ensure iPhone 7 compatibility in our vehicles. At this time, the Apple iPhone 7 is not an approved device for our vehicles until testing has completed. We do not currently have an estimated time frame regarding the completion of iPhone 7 testing. Please continue to look for an update from Apple for a new iOS and our update website to help resolve your concerns:www.bmw.com/update. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."

Response from Apple:

"We technically don’t build our software while keeping every third party system in mind, there are simply too many of them to try to do that with. Those third parties like BMW ultimately build their system to be compatible with our devices as that is a feature offered by them. For example on iOS 10 we had an issue with some Nissan and Infiniti vehicles having an issue with no call audio while connected over bluetooth. The fix for that was ultimately made by Nissan in a firmware update for their

system.

I want to be sure we look into this on our end as well that is why I would like to get it to our engineers. I just know typically when it comes to compatibility issues with specific car manufacturers it is usually the car manufacturers who ultimately will come out with a fix for their systems usually through an update."

Mike Wuerthele, Staff Writer with AppleInsider.com pointed me on an article from early August that explains the Bluetooth issues created since IOS 9.2.

So, we're all screwed till either the car manufacturers or Apple will come with a fix... The consumer always getting burned over this proxy wars.

9/29/2016. Interesting they are focusing on the car specifics. I am having the issue with my JabraPro headset for work, my Ford Flex bluetooth, and all my other bluetooth accessories since the 10 series upgrades. Apple needs to sit up and take note... its all my apple accessories that kept me from changing phones (well now i would say some of the security too 😉). 10.0.2 has not resolved, seems worse on bluetooth.

I encourage everybody to contact the Apple Support start a ticket or contact them via twitter (they are very good at responding). I have started a ticket and have had some lengthy chats with them about the bluetooth problems. They are doing what they call trying to "isolate" the problem and end up blaming the carmakers for the issues. I keep telling them that this doesn't seem to on the devices but on the ios. Because 10 worked fine and it's mostly 10.0.2 issues. I have also been sending them the link to this support site for them to see that the issue widespread. They are also on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AppleSupport. Please let them know otherwise they won't elevate the issue to resolve in the next round of update.

Yep...same song and dance. And they've got it all pre-canned for them too, or the dude helping me was the world's fastest typer! I've got a 2007 Infinity G35...but none of that matters. Apple made their update, and now the entire world is at fault...certainly not Apple! If this is a sign of things to come from Apple...careless updates, not listening to beta user's responses, and then not fixing something they caused...then time to leave this nice, nested IOS "family" and fly, fly away. Apple has always been rigid and wanted to basically tell their users how to color (so to speak), but this is crazy, and their actions...as noted by the endless web pages talking about this...is completely irresponsible to say it in a nice way...frustrated as (can't say nothing bad here...get's ******* out). I guess I change phones or buy a new car? Oh wait, it's all cars worldwide...guess a new car is out of the question...

After a week of 10.0.2 in my BMW, I have to report that the issues are still there, it just worked for some reason on the first day. Very annoying, and even more annoying is the arrogance of Apple to not recognize breaking bluetooth as a problem of their own.

@Apple: The history books are full of once great companies, which fell over their arrogance. You will fall too if you don't wake up. I actually would take an iPhone half as fast with half as many apps as the other phone maker, if it would just work seamlessly and reliably. But this ignorance is unacceptable.

Same problem here.

Since upgraded to iOs10, I can't make vocal call from my BMW Navigator V.

It does recognize the device, and it seems connected, but while before i was able to make phone call using Siri, now the audio setting must be manually switched, on the BMW Nav V calling page, to speakerphone and then again to phone to start to hearing something. Sometimes it doesn't work even with this workaround.

Everything started from the upgrade.

It's annoying and dangerous while riding. And it's a downgrade.

I had some promising news from Mercedes if you are a Mercedes owner. Mercedes is aware of the issue and working on their firmware to work with Mercedes devices. They are working on that right now. They weren't exactly sure when the update would be released. I have also read in many articles that BMW and Honda are aware of the issue and they are working on an update.

I don't think this changes the fact that Apple is forcing ALL these manufacturers to update when in fact previous ios versions worked. I actually downloaded the beta (10.1) to see if they are going to fix that and it didn't help so not sure there will be any change on Apple's end.

I will report back once Mercedes releases the update for the firmwares for all Mercedes owners.

Same issue here. Purchased iPhone 7 plus with iOS 10.0.2. Hyundai Elantra no longer connects to the phone via Bluetooth after car is turned off then back on again. Repairing the bluetooth connection between the car and the iPhone by using Forget This Device and allows the connection to be initially established, but after shutting off the car it promptly fails to reconnect.

- Apple Store just ignores the Customer compliance on this issue, and hints that's vehicle problem.

- contactus.de@euro.apple.com is only pointing that Technical complaints must be discussed with Apple Care or 0800 664545 1 or apple.com/support/contact

- Apple Support is also painful, some of the Chat assistants are ignoring the case and trying to get avoid of recording the customer compliance and says that's a Vehicle problem

to sum up, after a long trial, I reached to a contact person from Apple through a nice employee from chat assistance Team by Apple Support and got a callback from Ireland based number.

The issue has been pointed from this contact person that BMW has a faulty system and no any compliance from Bluetooth has been reported yet in their system (now I asked myself, if the Discussion Forum is just for fun created?)

After his long insistance on that I need to bring my BMW to Dealer get an Update and complain myself with my Brand new 2016 vehicle that BMW is building incompatible system with iOS 10, this colleague also gave it up and recorded finally a Apple-Ticket for iOS10 Bluetooth Bug since I've sacrifised my older iPhone6 to lose all warranty condition by installing back on iOS 9.3.5 from a Backup and the issue was suddenly fixed!

Now I'll be waiting October long, if the Apple SW Developers even react to build an update to fix this issue, otherwise it's for me and all my connections a definite time to say a goodbye to Apple products.

All these discussions are showing me that customer orientation is no more company policy for Apple.

There are, however, still some enthusiastic colleagues that they try hard to bring a solution for customers. I need to thank myself from these honest people.

But that will not change the fact that Apple perhaps handles all its customers as dummies.

Arrogance and Ignorance will bring Apple only problem with current customers in near future, to end up with losing the majority. If it's the current company goal, then we do not need to make a any further comment. Respect!

This is getting truly frustrating. Apple changes something for the right or wrong reason, breaks car Bluetooth (which have almost no chance of being updated) and then ignores community saying it's broken and then continues to do nothing.

Well i'm doing something - I've just ordered a Google Pixel XL. Can't wait until it gets here and I can talk to people in the car again,

THanks,

Shane.
