Q: Problems with "Parked Car" Feature (iOS 10 Maps)

I upgraded to iOS 10 on my iPhone 5S yesterday. I cannot get the parked car feature of maps to work.

I have the following enabled:

-All Apple Maps Notification options

-Maps Location Services (While Using). "Always" is not available as an option.

-System Services: Frequent Locations

-System Services:Routing and Traffic

-System Services:Improve Maps

My phone connects via Bluetooth to my car's handsfree system. Is it not carplay.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

    I have the same problem with an iPhone 6. Try General > Reset> All Settings, then re-pair your phone to your car, and see if it works now.

    It didn't fix mine, but this is what Apple has recommended.

    I've got the same problem with my iPhone 5S. My wife uses an iPhone 6S and it works fine without doing anything differently as we does. Maybe it's a problem with the iPhone 5S.

    Having same problem with my 5s as well. Using a Uconnect system in car via bluetooth. I've even gone in and selected that bluetooth device and selected "show notifications".  Still nothing.  I've tried deleting phone and re-pairing it.  No luck.

    I've watched on the bluetooth screen as I enter the car and it connects and I've watched the screen as I leave the car and it disconnects.  Still no notification or parked car destination in maps.  I do have "show parked location" checked in maps settings, as well as having all location services, frequent destinations, etc. turned on as well.

    Settings-->Privacy-->Location Services-->System Services-->Frequent Locations - (turn it on)

    I read on another site this is how you fix it and it worked for me and literally just tested it (iPhone 6S Plus)

    make sure its available on the iPhone 5S because looking by what settings you have, it should work, cause I have a 6S Plus and I was trying to figure this issue out and I fixed all those settings and it finally worked for me....when you go back to maps make sure if it asks you to improve maps blah blah blah choose yes, I don't remember exactly what it said but I picked yes lol...

    Settings-->Privacy-->Location Services-->System Services-->Frequent Locations

    ^^^^that's all I read on another site and it fixed the issue for me

    I do have all these things turned on, and still not working.  I wonder if it is a problem with the 5s based on some of the other comments.  One thing I did find that was wrong, under Settings/Privacy/Location Services there is a setting called "share my location".  When I went into this menu, I did have "share my location" turned on, however, where it asks "From", I had an old phone selected.  I changed it to my current phone "this device", and hopefully that will make a difference.  I'll know the next time I park my car.

    I own an iPhone 5s. Feature doesn't work but if you say to say "remember I parked here" feature seems to work

    HI there,

    i ve got the 5se. I also turned on all the above mentioned options.

    just tried it with no success

    Does maps have to run to be able to mark the position? ( when intried it i didn't have maps running)

    isnt there any documentation from apple, what we have to do to make that work?

    Hi there, the same situation here, all options are 'on' and this feature doesn't work on my iPhone 5s.

    Sorry to tell you. I tried it and that doesn't help me. More and more I'm sure it's the 5s. It seems it's not supported.

    I think Apple should make an announcement to inform their customers.

    I don't think it's a matter of 5s, it doesn't work at my friend's 6 as well

    I have an iPhone 6 and my BF does, too. Car park worked on his phone but not mine. I tried everything but what finally worked was restoring all settings and re-pairing the phone with bluetooth.

    I tried to reset first network and location settings then all settings, but didn't help...they advise to set up an iPhone as a new device but honestly this means erasing everything and setting this up all over again.

    Hi. Could there be any relation to the bluetooth-name of the car radio. ( maybe it has to be carxxxx or something like that)??
