Problems with "Parked Car" Feature (iOS 10 Maps)

I upgraded to iOS 10 on my iPhone 5S yesterday. I cannot get the parked car feature of maps to work.

I have the following enabled:

-All Apple Maps Notification options

-Maps Location Services (While Using). "Always" is not available as an option.

-System Services: Frequent Locations

-System Services:Routing and Traffic

-System Services:Improve Maps

My phone connects via Bluetooth to my car's handsfree system. Is it not carplay.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

This makes no sense.

Parked car updates used to work for me with this car and this iPhone. The car is 6 months old.
parked car updates no longer work now with this same car and iPhone.
work and home commute estimates still fire every time, when I get in the car I am given this info
I had my car in for maintenance and received the same car (different color - LOL) as a loaner yesterday. I paired BT for the day and it gave me parked car updates.
Got back in my car and ... nope
deleted my BT and reconnected and no change.

I have iPhone 6 and VW Passat 2015 equipped with Discover Pro audio and so far I haven't managed to make this feature to work. Pretty odd 😟

Did a software update on my car's Uconnect system yesterday. Still no luck. I wonder if there are certain phone/radio combos that just don't work. Has anyone else gotten this to work with a 5s/Dodge Uconnect combo? I'm using the latest iPhone version, the latest Uconnect version, on a 2016 car, and all the settings are correct on the phone. The only thing that isn't new is the phone hardware itself. I'm seeing mostly posts about the 5s and 6 not working. Is it possible this feature only works on 6s or newer?

I wonder if there's no connection between this feature and frequent locations feature...It seems like FL stopped writing data about my locations after ios 10 update (no new dates appear in FL section)...maybe that's why it can't determine where you are...It still doesn't work..

I have the exact same problem on my 5s. The only thing I did not test yet is re-pairing my phone with the car.

So I tried to set up a 6S as a new phone, paired it with my car (VW Passat 2015) BT, checked all the settings and the feature is still not working 😟

This worked for me (found on another site):

I think someone said in another thread that the Frequent Locations setting needs to be turned on under Settings-->Privacy-->Location Services-->System Services-->Frequent Locations

HI, lucky you are.

( I believe, everybody who s gotten this far away n the thread knows to turn on FL)

i just discovered, that my carstereo disconnects when I'm leaving. (.As it's supposed to do )

But in the battery widget the stereo is still listed. I only can get rid of it when restarting the phone.

mayby for some reason that's why iOS thinks it's still in the car ? Could you check that with your devices?

yes my car stereo battery shows in widget at 100% all the time even when away from car.
