Definitely agree with you on this.

since updating to iOS 10 on my iPhone SE the volume and sound quality have been significantly reduced.

Through headphones and Bluetooth it now sounds awful no matter what settings I try.

I Tried re-pairing the Bluetooth and re-loading all the music files but is still as bad.

It was perfect before the update so why have they changed it!

I hope enough people complain so they sort this out soon.

I absolutely agree. I am using an iPhone 6 plus. The sound was great before this update. Now the best word to describe it is anemic. I'm audiophile type and use very high grade headphones. Now matter what I do with the EQ the sound is lackluster. Please, Apple, please please please fix this... You've ruined one of my favorite things 😟

Anyone else tried the update to 10.0.2?
I tried it but it still sounds like listening to music underwater.

So Apple still haven't realised their mistake, where anyone that updates to iOS 10 is inadvertently turning their expensive, modern music player into a cheap cassette player from the 90's.

I thought sound quality was supposed to improve, this is clearly a step backwards.

To prove my point I tested it on my iPad, still on IOS 9, same music files, same settings, etc, it always sounded the same as my iPhone as I swap between them regularly.

I tried it in my car and the difference was noticeable immediately, it was louder, clearer and back to the quality I had become used to. Same through my headphones.

Apple need to sort this soon or they may find people who value their music looking elsewhere.

I look forward to 10.0.3.

Hi I think ive got the solution, I noticed this issue after upgrading to ios 10 (not sure if 10.0.1 or 10.0.2 short time between them) and I was starting to freak out ^^

plug the phone

open itunes --> your phone

summary --> configure accessibility

and somehow 😢 'use mono audio' was activated, as soon as you uncheck and click ok the sound changes, stops being noisy and bass is back

I hope that helps 😊

Hello,

I had the same problem after updating my iPhone 6s to ios10. I downgraded to ios 9.3.5 and the sound returned to be good. But then I compared the sound with my Ipad air 2 with ios10 restored, not upgraded from ios9, and I saw that the sound was good in the two devices, almost identical. So I restored the iphone with a fresh installation of ios10, not an upgrade from ios9, and the sound has returned to be good again.

So I think that the problem comes when updating from ios9 to ios10, and the sollution is to do a fresh installation of ios10, or ios 9.3.5.
