Touch ID not working on iOS 10 -iPhone 5s

I updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 10 this morning and as soon as I turned it on it said

"Unable to activate Touch ID on this iPhone"

And it wiped all my fingerprints so now when I go to put my fingerprint back on Touch ID

It reads

"Failed: unable to complete Touch ID set-up. Please go back and try again"

I've tried multiple time and turn my phone on and off again but it still doesn't seem to work

charshaz,

Thank you but did you read what everyone has written? It's not even giving us the opportunity to enroll our fingerprints on a phone that was working fine with iOS 9.3.5. Before even going into settings, an error about not being able to activate Touch ID on the phone pops up. What good is taking an out-of-warranty phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider going to do to fix what appears to be a software bug other than cost us money?

I've just filed a bug report without logs. I've downgraded my device to 9.3.5. If there are people who is on iOS 10.0.1, please take a look at Touch ID logging section and make a log of errors. Then, post it to bugreport.apple.com.

First, back-up your iPhone. Try restoring your iphone. This is done by putting your phone in DFU mode or turning it completely off, turning it on, holding the power button and home button for 10 seconds, then letting go of the power button while still holding the home button. It should show an iTunes symbol. Plug your phone into your computer and it will ask you to restore. Restore the iPhone.
