iOS 10 battery drain / overheating

I Updated my iPhone 6 64gb to iOS 10 yesterday, today with normal low usage my battery (charged every night) has dropped from 100% to 38% in just over 1 hour I've also noticed that in use it is getting very hot something it never did under iOS 9, so apart from the positive of now having a winter pocket hand warmer it will be a useless phone after mid day I hope iOS 10.0.2 comes out quickly to address this issue, a very disappointed Mac user since Mac OS 8.5

My iphone 6 was draining battery, over heating and would die even when there is enough battery. I first had an online chat with apple support and they directed me to the apple store. The store ran a diagnostic test and told me that the battery is fine, they than restored the software and told me everything would be fine. But the problem still persisted and when I again went to the apple store, they told me that now the diagnostics say that my battery is weak and must be changed. I cautioned them that I will only pay for the battery if the phone works fine, so they told me they will first test the new battery and will only change if the phone works fine. After 2 days of running the phone on new battery, the problem of battery percentage skipping, drain and heating has completely disappeared.

good to know it, in fact the battery life is the big question in our lifes

they are trying to inject the market full of products that are depending on batteries, but in fact they are bringing to us the problem of the battery life. My iPhone 6s lasted just 1 year ... that is not acceptable, it is ok that they replace my iPhone without questions or costs, but that not make my happy. The reasons why the batteries in general dies is as always unknow, and that is what scars me everytime I look to a product which depends on the baterry life.

In other products, my MacBook Pro from 2011, battery cycles are over 500, and it stills last over 4 hours in internet, or like 2 hours watching a fooball game. It is the positive side, but why some last like forever, and others die on the beach! who knows, nobody is able to explain it!

I sugges you to replace your phone if it still has warranty, if at the Apple Store they will say your phone is all right, better hit the phone on the head of the person who will say the phone is ok, then ask him or her to change it,,, *** they always attach to the computer and just says the phone doesn't have any problem, then what is in it eating battery all the time, even if it is software problem they should help you the fix it by them self

Ever since moving to iOS10 on my iPhone 6, battery drain has been a plague.

I would have to recharge 2-3x per day.

This was my FIX. Seems simple but it worked for me! Good luck and hope it works for you too.

I have my battery life BACK!

SETTINGS - GENERAL - RESET - RESET ALL SETTINGS

You won't loose any data, apps, etc. You will have to sign back into iCloud, Apple Pay, etc.

Ugh. I have done everything suggesting I Do on every blog, support, or from Apple.. I use my phone for work and the phone drains to 0% several times a day. I've used my IPhone 6 as my alarm for several years and never had an issue. Last week it was at 100% at 11pm nothing was running as everything is disable removed or shut off.. the phone died during the night and I missed a huge meeting.. I am due for a new phone next month And was considered a new iPad Pro and Computer but may just move in a different direction as Apple has made my ability to do my

Job impossible..

On a personal note the phone functions totally freeze unable to make a call.. even in an emergency situation.. in a time when people no longer have landlines this is another deterrent

My iPad Air has become virtually unusable since updating to iOS 10. Every time the smart cover closes, I have to do a hard reset to get it started again. The battery drains much faster and the casing is always hot. Even when I shut it down (swipe to power off), pressing the Wake/Sleep button (long press) will not bring it back again. I need to press the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for over 10 seconds in order to get the iPad to reboot. I can no longer trust it for calendar reminders, alarms, etc., as it no longer has a functioning standby mode.

I have now done a total of 4 Restore from Backups in an attempt to get it to work properly (no lasting improvements to report).

In all honestly I am incredibly disappointed that Apple would push a software update that has been so poorly validated. My iPad is 2 years old - and worked flawlessly under iOS 9. The very least Apple could do is to re-sign an official iOS 9 version so that users experiencing issues in iOS 10 can backtrack to a stable iOS version for their hardware.
