iOS 10 - Show only downloaded music

Hi all, It appears that the Music app forces us to display our iTunes purchases. I do not like this and only want my downloaded music to appear on the device.

I'm not ok with tapping the >Downloaded tab every time I open the app. There must be a solution, so how do I fix this?

I would not have updated had I known this feature would be so strongly imposed. Thanks for your help.

After reading the last 5 pages the best solution I've come across is this Picky app.

It just officially replaced the music app for me.

I spent about an hour on the online chat support and even the apple tech couldn't solve the problem (and then reading over this forum I'd like rephrase to " was reluctant to admit that this was permanently built into the app and apple is just pretending like it isn't a huge issue for their customers"). I agree with everything that has been said: too clunky, waste of data, feels backwards, music I don't like shuffling though with everything else, etc.

Finally at the end of the thread: a solution! Ditch the Music app all together. Thought I'd check out Picky and after the amount of time I'd invested into this tonight $4 seemed worth it. Downloaded it, opened it and there it was! All the music I'd specifically choosen for my phone, in a clear interface that reminded me how easy it USED to be. I literally did nothing. It automatically knew what had been put on my device.

Sorry apple. This is a consumer society, and I vote with which products I use, your music app has been bumped from my dock.

The only solution right now is to log out of the iTunes and App Store on your phone. This will hide all cloud music And only show you what is on your phone. Only downside is you will have to log back in to download or update apps. Also the podcasts will not sync.

ANother her option is to download the app called picky. It is a great music app. It will only show you downloaded music plus the layout is so much better than apples music app.

I love Mac but to be honest its started to get worse than windows. I am even now contemplating trying Samsung and android.

Apple are just assuming that everyone has WiFi 100% of the time. I travel all the time on planes train and automabile

but I hate going to an album on the phone and the songs are in the cloud.

I have even stopped buying Films on iTunes and getting them on Sky as they at least send me the DVD and I have a copy myself Sky also send a £5 Voucher too winner.

Either apple start listening or everyone will go back to PC..... its gonna happen.
