Hi all, It appears that the Music app forces us to display our iTunes purchases. I do not like this and only want my downloaded music to appear on the device.
I'm not ok with tapping the >Downloaded tab every time I open the app. There must be a solution, so how do I fix this?
I would not have updated had I known this feature would be so strongly imposed. Thanks for your help.

Well and worse, you can no longer sort first by genre and then by artist. So now if you go first to genre, you can only sort by album title - not artist. So if you have 100 rock albums and five are by the Stones, they are now scattered about by title.
Obviously the designers don't care about this feature - nor do they seem to care about the "music lover" in general.
I dropped Spotify in favor of Apple Music to centralize my listening. However this sort of nonsense pushes me to reconsider music players such as Cesium or Ecoute, which in turn makes me want to reconsider whether Apple Music is the way to go.
This issue has reared its ugly head again with the 10.2 update. This time on the video side with the god-awful TV app.
No way to hide your paid content unless you go into airplane mode.
1000% EPIC FAIL.
The only solution right now is to log out of the iTunes and App Store on your phone. This will hide all cloud music And only show you what is on your phone. Only downside is you will have to log back in to download or update apps. Also the podcasts will not sync.
ANother her option is to download the app called picky. It is a great music app. It will only show you downloaded music plus the layout is so much better than apples music app.
I love Mac but to be honest its started to get worse than windows. I am even now contemplating trying Samsung and android.
Apple are just assuming that everyone has WiFi 100% of the time. I travel all the time on planes train and automabile
but I hate going to an album on the phone and the songs are in the cloud.
I have even stopped buying Films on iTunes and getting them on Sky as they at least send me the DVD and I have a copy myself Sky also send a £5 Voucher too winner.
Either apple start listening or everyone will go back to PC..... its gonna happen.
I Love the picky app. The developer of the app is a nice guy too. He is open to suggestions.
Go into iTunes and make a new smart playlist which includes non purchases only. Sync with device and show only downloaded content. Then you can just shuffle the playlist if you need.

I think this may have gotten fixed in 10.3. You can now go into downloaded music and shuffle all songs from there

Before u were able to choose if show only downloaded or all library on car screen;
Unbelievable Apple switch off this function...
