Suspicious activity from IP address

From the info yo supplied I say this is just a scam

Phony "tech support" / "ransomware" popups and web pages

Those people are LYING to you in an attempt to get your money, take over your computer, and steal your identity.

If you were doing anything that was causing a problem, your ISP would shut you down in a heartbeat and not even notify you -- they would wait for you to complain.

I got this pop up recently after following a link posted by someone on linked in. I know the person who posted the link personally so maybe I'll be able to find out more about where this particular scam originates.

there are likely countless posts that arrange a connection to whatever that link resolves to because it does not resolve to the address it's showing, and as stated its simply an ad trying to scam you, not anything more.
