Some of my apps are stuck in "waiting" mode

I downloaded ios 10 last night. It old me upon download that my Facebook and Messenger app would be uninstalled but automatically re-installed. It TRIED to re-install but both apps are stuck. They say "waiting" below them. I can't stop them (tried that) and I can't delete them and re-install (tried that as well). Help, anyone?? LoL

I purchased a new phone, backed up my old one and restored the backup into the new phone. I have 30 apps that are "waiting" . They do not show up on itunes, just the phone. I cannot delete or do anything. I have rebooted several times and reinstalled the backup several times. I find if I press 2x on the waiting app it says loading...but never loads. I have confirmed my password over and over.... 2 days now working on this. I will be ditching iphone products next purchase as I cannot find any help.

I did find that if you go to apps, and select "purchased" and then select "not on this phone" the list of waiting apps are there. I am seeing if they will load from here...bus so far no luck.

I have the same issue after changing my iPhone from 6 to 7. iCloud restore seemed to work but I still have 19 apps in waiting status. I connected to iTunes and clicked in apps sync. The status in iTunes says waiting for items to copy. Apple status board shows all green for services. I started this process last evening and it continues with no change.

Any ideas?? Any responses?? Anyone care??

I Finally fixed mine. It took a couple of tries. After syncing my iPhone 6 to itunes I removed the "waiting" apps through itunes, not through the phone. After this, the phone still had "ghost apps" appearing but they were not in waiting status anymore. They would not delete from the phone. So, I then went to the app store in itunes and clicked the apps in itunes to download. After downloading and re-syncing the ghost apps disappeared. So once again, I deleted said apps in itunes, re-synced and the re-downloaded and re-stnced again. Finally, problem fixed. It was time consuming and fristrating. Hopefully Apple Fixes this soon. I just ordered my 7 plus. If I have to do this all again, I am not going to be happy! its a WHOLE lot of removing, re-downloading and re-syncing. Hope this helps you!
