iOS 10 zoom causing lag & unresponsiveness

having the same problem on my iPhone SE. I didn't figure out that it is the zoom causing the issue, but it appears to

be. This needs to be fixed in a software update.

After restoring my iPhone and discovering that the issue is still there, I finally came across this thread!!

This issue was on later versions of iOS 9 and has been made worse with the iOS 10 release. I'm glad in a way that I'm not the only one finding this problem as I do rely on Zoom for 95% of my phone and iPad use.

Please Apple! Let there be an end to this!!!

I only figured it out after restoring my iPhone 6plus and having no issue using an actual magnifying glass to do the set up and such. When I switch Zoom off, the problem has gone.

I've given up. Turned off all zooming and font size adjustments. Had to install the Gmail app because the problem is affecting the Apple mail app to the point I can't read email at all at times.

If I'm going to have to use Google apps to make the phone work - might as well have a Google phone. Sorry Apple - so long. Next time - test your "updates." #samsungS7

I tried iOS 10.1 public beta 3 and I can confirm that the problem is solved! So if you really want the issue to be solved, you should go to beta.apple.com and install it.

i have a 6s plus and installing 10 was the biggest blunder. There is an easy way to reproduce sluggish touch on ios 10.

Apple, in case you are listening...

Go to settings, scroll down a few pages to the list of apps you have on the Phone. Now click on one of the apps and immediately come back to the list again once that apps settings show up. The moment you are back on the list of apps, try to scroll down. You won't be able to. It just pathetic. You have to give it second before it lets you scroll again.

It's like anything goes under Cook.

Just adding my two cents. The problem is very annoying. I went so far as using my developer credentials to submit a bug report. It was futile because they demanded files I was not prepared to send. The issue is obvious. It's reproducible 100% of them time with the correct set up.

Here's my no fail steps to reproduce:

1. Make sure you have accessibility zoom enabled (I forget how to enable this feature)

2. Open Instagram or Tumblr (somewhere with infinite scroll or similar).

3. Scroll down and click a photo to enlarge. It may open in a new page (depending on your browser or if you are using the app- happens in every app).

4. With three fingers, double tap to enlarge.

5. Zoom in further (or zoom out further) using three fingers to swipe up or down. You'll see the page zoom more controllably.

6. Three finger double tap (not swipe) to return to normal zoom view.

7. Here is where it loses functionality. Try scrolling normally. Try sliding page left and right.

End result: a noticeable delay when "recovering" from using accessibility zoom. Hangs the app by a few seconds.

I heard it might be fixed but wanted to provide my steps in case it has not been exactly fixed.

Same issue. Multitouch gestures are pain to use, ipad air become very sluggish on ios10. I think this piece of **** ios10 more suitable for iphones than ipads, I regret that I updated it.

Yes. On my iPad Pro 12.9". Some spots have sporadic unresponsiveness that will be on different locations. What's happening, Apple?

I use SE, and the scrolling lagging problem so far only occurs when I read or browse the news via a certain news application, and it doesn't happen on other apps and browser. That news app has been updated, so there should be some reasons causing this issue.

Me too, tried so many guides to fix this. Started in IOS 9 and continued with ios10. Safari is slow to load when I scroll and then safari reports a problem with the web site and reloads
