Disable Suggested Apps iOS 10

Since the iOS 10 update I am no longer able to turn off Suggested Apps in Settings>iTunes & App Store. It's gone! I hate that when my phone goes hands free in my car it suggest the incorrect Audio App in the lock screen with a small icon on the bottom left. It used to continue play the last audio app when I left the car now it stops all audio or launches a different app all together. The screen shot is from my iPad since that is still on iOS 9. I already tried turning off Siri Suggested Apps in Spotlight Search, but that didn't fix the issue.

Does anyone know how to disable this in iOS 10?

As far as I’m concerned, this is a bug and has no solution.

Believe me, I’ve done everything and I know iPhone like the palm of my hand.

What Chris suggests apparently solves the problem, but as soon as you move to a different location, you get the absurd icon back again. I’ve disables the related options in the location service too, but it keeps coming and I get the icon suggestion of apps I haven’t even opened like Music app.

The thing is, why would Apple eliminate the settings that could disable it?

Why would they try to link this problem to the widget Siri Suggestions?

The simple answer for me is it’s a bug they don’t want to recognise which eventually will solve (I hope) within the next weeks.

I got mine off just now. Not only did it appear in my lock screen but transparent on the bottom of my homepage as a little tab. Drove me crazy! Said "based on your location". This is what I did ....

Settings >Privacy>Location>System Services

TURN OFF LOCATION BASED ALERTS

Hope it helps. i thought it was a handoff feature because of my Apple Watch, but turns out this did the trick.

Limit what can be seen on your iPhone lock screen

Thanks to iOS 10’s new ‘Raise to Wake’ feature, iPhone users can pick up their devices and quickly get a glance at their notifications and other pertinent information. This can be extremely convenient but also worrisome if you’re worried about privacy and someone just picking up your phone and seeing what you’ve got going on.

Not to worry, iOS 10 lets you granularly control what type of information shows up on the lock screen when Raise to Wake is called into action. To take more control of your lock screen, simply go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and scroll down until you see this screen.

For what the OP was asking, your reply best answered the question. Thank you! I was having the same issue. I removed location queries before iOS 10 and forgot they might have turned them all on again. This was super helpful! Hope more people scroll down and find your suggestion. My loc k screen and switch between screen no longer has the location based icon anymore User uploaded file
