Go to System Preferences/Network, click the gear at the bottom, and select Set Service Order. Drag Ethernet to the top.
Ok; that makes sense. It was setup that way. Here is my real issue. I did a speed test and it looks like my Wifi is controlling the internet download speed 8MBPS and upload 15 Mbps. I should be getting 20/50 Mbps Fiber Optic connection? Is this an apple (iMac) issue or a service provider issue?
If you want to use Ethernet, why do you have the Wi-Fi on? You have set up a 'battle' for control of Internet access. I suggest you turn off the Wi-Fi. If you are accessing the Internet via Ethernet, why do you need Wi-Fi?
When I turn Wifi off I loose internet even if ethernet says it is connected?? Do you think it is still Mac Os related of ISP?
Try restarting/resetting the router. Try using another Ethernet cable.

Found the problem. I had a network switch between the fiberop connection and the ISP router. Once I put the fiberop connection directly to the WAN on the router and plugged my computer on the LAN the problem went away. On another note I found out also that the LAN connetion from the ISP router is faster than a network switch. So I put my computer connection to the ISP router to maximize the speed. Thank you for your suggestion and I am happy to know that my router has not been hacked.
