iOS 10 Clock

I opened Clock for the first time in iOS10 and was aghast to find out that it now has white lettering on a black background, and there is no way to turn it back to having a much more readable, easier on the eyes, black lettering on a white background. I contacted Apple Support and the only suggestion they had was to give feedback to Apple.

The other annoying feature of Clock in iOS 10 is the Bedtime feature. Click it and you are told: Going to bed and waking up at the same times every day are keys to healthy sleep.

Oh, really? Give me a break. I don't need my iPhone to tell me when to go beddy bye and when to wake up. This is the most infantile feature yet.

Danial Voran, I agree with you the white on black is horrid! And I agree also that we should be given the ability to make a choice!!! This is just another item added to the list of things I dislike about iOS10: mostly dislike UI changes that are beginning to little by little stray farther and farther away from the original Apple aesthetic. 😟

There are over a million apps in the App Store. If you don't like the way the one provided by Apple works, just download one that meets your needs better. I haven't used the built-in clock for years. Or the calendar. Or the calculator. Or the Weather app. Or Notes. Or the News app. Or Maps. There are far better apps in the app store.

Clearly, I use very few of the built in apps, as they are all pretty primitive (intentionally by Apple, I might add). One reason for the success of the app store is that Apple doesn't attempt to compete with its outside developers; all Apple apps are very basic, exactly to avoid competing.

I wish I'd never updated to ios 10. It has nothing I need and much

I do not.

It puzzles me that the weather app can change background

color for night and day times but the clock, timer, alarm and stopwatch

cannot.

I rely on these functions a great deal and now it is like Halloween all

of the time. (I like Halloween, but not on my phone.)

Really, Apple, really? Why does the background have to change,

anyway? It is really hard to read now. Why can't this be a setting and

be customized as other apps are?

PLEEEEAAASE Apple, give us a choice. We are responsible and can

handle it. Don't go the way of the Dark Side.

Well, I'm glad it's not just me - like you, am angry that stopwatch background is now 'stuck' with black background;

I'm angry that an innocent man was shot and killed by police in Oklahoma. We seem to have different priorities. There's nothing that can be done about my anger, but you can resolve yours by installing one of the hundreds of clock apps in the app store. I'm sure there's one that meets your exacting specifications.
