lost apple pencil cap

The cap to the apple pencil has fallen off and is nowhere to be found. Right now I have the little adaptor thing on the top, but has anyone else had this problem and found a better long-term solution? I have not been able to find a third party replacement and the apple store is no help - they only sell tip replacements. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am just trying to protect the end of the pencil.

Just as soon as I posted this, I was able to get a chat started. Its a slow process, took me what seemed like 10-15 mins to complete.

You will need your apple pencil serial #. I found mine under Settings> General> About. I had to insert the pencil in the lightning port for it to show up.

$9.95 + shipping, came to about $16 when it was all said and done.

They send you an email to complete your transaction.

They did offer an alternative to go by the Genius Bar to try and find a suitable replacement. I opted for the replacement.
