Birthday events of contacts not showing up in calendar widget in notification screen in iOS 10. can anyone help me with this..?
iPhone 5, iOS 10
I think most people are talking about the Up Next widget. Anytime an event is created as "all day", that event does NOT show up on the Widget or as a pop up reminder. The only way I have been able to work around this is by setting a specific time for the event (birthday). If my son's birthday is April 1st, instead of making it an all day event, I had to change it to 8am. Then I put in a reminder alert for 1 week before and 1 hr before and now it shows up in the Up Next Widget. That goes for ANY event that is created for ALL DAY. ALL Day events/birthdays should still be showing up on the widget but they don't.
It needs fixed.
Just a quick note to let you know what helped in my case: I suddenly wasn’t getting birthday reminders on my iPhone (latest version of iOS 10). It was set to "on day of event (9:00)" as shown in isurusams screenshot. Changing it there did not help, the reminders did not come. But they did reliable on my Mac (macOS 10.12.3). There I had it set to "1 day before" and decided to change it to "on day of event". Right after doint this the reminders on my iPhone started working again. Now both devices remind me on the same day at 9:00. It might be necessary to uncheck this:
Hi Buddy
You can do like below
Settings --> Calender --> Defult Alert times -->You wil see a Birthday Option then you can select when You want the alert to be set
Resolved for me
Change how Calendar notifies you. Go to Settings > Notifications > Calendar. You can change notification styles for invitations, events found in apps, upcoming events, and more.
Hi,
brenden,
I have the same issue of Ghauthaman after upgrade to iOS 10 in 4 devices. (another one device no upgraded to iOS 10 is working fine with birthday notifications).
I followed up your suggestions, but in the step 3 I don't have the "i" in the right on Birthdays calendar.
I have created a case in apple support, waiting for feedback.
Thanks.
Brenden,
I am having the same issue. When I enter birthday info for a contact, i expect it to show in the notifications widget like it did in earlier versions of iOS. The time is set to "all day event"
I Don't get that i by the side of birthdays in calendar app
There's an option to get alerts at 9 am, etc in the settings for calendars app. By setting so, I get an alert in the notification centre just as a notification.. but it's not showing up in the calendar widget at all..
Thank you for using the Apple Support Community. Due to the nature of your issue, you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources:

Same problem here. Looked through all possible settings but can't get birthdays back to notifications center((
I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?
Why did they remove this? It was super useful...
Today is my friend birthday and tomorrow is my girlfriend's. However I do not see anything in the Calendar or Up Next Widget. This is my first time using iOS, switched from Android. The Google Calendar on Android does allow you to set both alert/reminder and it always show up in its widget. I have missed birthday wishes for some of my friends though I already set it in contacts. They don't make it public on Facebook so I have to set in the phone to remind me about that. It is really sad, I even checked with Genius Bar in Apple Store but look like they ain't know the answer, too. Want to get this fix ASAP.
