Can B&O’s new Beoplay H5 earphones (or any third-party bluetooth earphone for that matter) be used to activate Siri?
iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10
I have a BlueAnt Q3 (there's a newer model) that will work with Siri. I touch and hold the button on the earphones and it activates Siri. To find out if the brand and model you're using does, consult the documentation that came with them or the manufacturer's website.
Thanks Meg. The B&O website just says that the earphone’s remote is “optimised for IOs”. Perhaps Apple won’t allow them to say that they will activate Siri? Funny that they don’t use it as a selling point?
"Optimized for iOS" doesn't necessarily mean that the device can be used to activate Siri. The product page for the Q3 specifically says it will support Siri.
Went ahead and bought them this afternoon and they do activate Siri fine: same controls as the Apple supplied earphones. Thanks for your help.
