After updating to ios10 - my phone app crashes

I have 64gb iPhone 6. After I upgraded to iOS 10 i have a couple of issues - the most severe being the phone app to freeze. I open i up and tap on phone number or other tab to switch - but nothing happens. It's frozen - can't dial, change to contacts, etc. I need to leave the app and open it up again - most likely it will work normally now. If not -repeat and third time is always the charm. Its quite annoying as things are not running smoothly. Phone app is one of those that can't be re-installed. What to do?

Jeez.... I had this same problem with the phone app freezing but also imessage (particularly when using the on-screen keyboard). I spent HOURS with genius bar and Apple support which got me nowhere. Genius Bar said it was a hardware issue, then phone support said a software issue. The kicker for me was after complaining to my work's IT department (is a corporate phone) they offered me an upgrade so I paid for a brand new iPhone 7 Plus and had the SAME issue (did not restore but set up as "new phone"). Being a software technician by trade I decided to troubleshoot by wiping the phone clean once again and add ONE item back at a time until the issue occurred. Soon as I added my work Exchange account it appeared. I've been a loyal Apple customer for years but this is freakin ridiculous. So now my work phone can't store my work contacts....awesome.

And even after the big update the problem still exists and it was not fixed.
