Sep 19, 2016 2:19 PM in response to ивановfromмоскваby Allen A,Hi ивановfromмосква,
I understand you have some questions about what to use the maps widget for on your iPhone in iOS 10. I know it's important to have good control over your iPhone, so I'm happy to help.
The map widget seems to change depending on information that is relevant to you. Check out the mention of widgets in this article:
Use Maps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple SupportAdd a favorite transit line
With iOS 10, you can add transit lines to your Favorites, and then see them in your Widget for timely information. To add a transit line to your favorites, follow these steps:
- In Maps, tap
, then select Transit. - Zoom in on the transit line. Then tap the name or number of the transit line. You might also see a symbol for the transit line.
- When you see the Details card, scroll to the bottom and tap Add to Favorites.
You can also enter your detination, then tap Directions to see if there are any other types of transit that you can take.
In addition to this, you'll find that when you park your car, its location will be displayed in the map widget.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Cheers! - In Maps, tap

Sep 29, 2016 12:58 PM in response to chris_g1by a.triple.eff,I am also having the same issue. I have added the "Maps Destinations" widget and the box only shows "No Upcoming Destinations". My understanding of this widget is that when you have a calendar event that includes an address (which shows up as a dropped pin on the calendar event) that it should trigger a similar destination "something" in the widget box. The widget is always empty. I have deleted it, turned my phone off, turned it back on, added the widget back - nothing. I have deleted it, closed that list, opened another app, closed that app, go back to the widgets, click edit, add the widget back. Still nothing. It works on my iPad, however on my iPhone 6S Plus running iOS 10.0.2, it doesn't work. Any thoughts?

Sep 29, 2016 1:58 PM in response to ивановfromмоскваby a.triple.eff,You need to go to settings, privacy, location services, system services, and turn on "Location Based Apple Ads". I don't like to be tracked, so I don't have that turned on. Will not use the Maps Destination widget for that reason, now.

Oct 5, 2016 3:33 AM in response to ивановfromмоскваby Richard09.10,I am also experiencing problems with the widget. I'm based in the U.K. I ensured my calendar event had the address underlined and checked by clicking on it at it took me to the location in maps - all ok but 'no upcoming destinations' still displaying. I also created a test appointment that lasted an hour rather than several days to see if the app interpreted the appointment of over 24 hours as an 'event' so didn't pull the loc data through but it still didn't work. the widget is a great idea and I'd find it really useful if it worked (or I could work out how to use it!) any thoughts greatfully received.

Oct 6, 2016 12:13 PM in response to ивановfromмоскваby Valentinissimo,For me, maps destination widget works with or without the "Location-Basel Apple Ads" activated. I tested it by choosing a trip in New York City, from one place to another, set a leaving time, chose transport, and it appeared in the widget "Upcoming destinations". The thing is that transit informations are needed for the widget to work and transit information are available only a few cities in the world. Here is the list: http://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/
Good luck.

Oct 11, 2016 11:43 AM in response to Valentinissimoby pbirdsong12,I have tried all of these things and it still does not work for me. My iPad seems to run the widget, but my iPhone 6 does not. Just says, "No Upcoming Destinations" no matter what I try.

Oct 12, 2016 12:58 PM in response to pbirdsong12by belawyer,I have same issue. Since getting an iphone 7 and IOS 10 my maps destination widget does not work. Previously, and for the last couple years since I had my iphone 6, every time I would walk out of my apartment or office I would receive a notification telling me how long the commute was to my next location and the traffic (normal, heavy, etc). It was actually probably about 90% or more accurate at guessing where I was driving next and I found it to be a nice feature. However, since I got my new iphone 7, all the widget says is "No Upcoming Destinations" and no longer receive these friendly alerts every time I leave a location. I have been searching threads and posts about this feature for over a week now. I already checked settings to make sure frequent locations was turned on, I tried turning frequent locations off and then back on and all my location services are turned on except the parked car feature which I thought was useless because I never lose my car. I also have location based ads turned on even though someone above says it doesn't need to be on. AS far as I can tell I have every setting turned on to allow this widget to work properly but I have nothing.

Oct 13, 2016 1:44 PM in response to belawyerby Kevyerin,Same exact problem. Widget worked great in IOS 10 beta on my 6 plus. But since getting 7 plus it always says no upcoming destinations. I have everything checked as listed above live in Dallas not the boonies, unsure if it's the software or my phone since it worked on my old phone.
