We are volunteers (who do not work for Apple). The Apple Store technician has seen your iPhone; I (and other responders here) have not.

The Apple Store technician told you that your iPhone was pressure damaged. So perhaps you sat on it, or placed some heavy parcel on it. Anyway, nobody here can or would contradict what Apple has told you.

So your choices are to pay the repair price, or to not get your iPhone repaired. There are also third party repair options, but I would strongly caution you against using these options as their work would not be sanctioned by Apple.
