Why is it taking a minute to connect to an Apple TV via AirPlay?

We recently updated our iPad Pros to 10.0.1 and one of our Apple TVs to 7.2.1 (Shown as the Apple TV Software version). We found that the Apple TV would go to a blank screen as it was connecting. Seeing how we were minutes away from a meeting in which it would be needed, I ended up swapping out the Apple TV with another one. The second Apple TV connected much quicker. I took the first Apple TV back to the office to work with and test. I found that it is taking it 30 seconds to act like AirPlay is connecting when it goes to a blank screen. It is taking it another 30 seconds before it displays the connecting iPad's screen. This seems extremely long.

Hi. Are you possibly not on the same WiFi network as the slow ATV? In that case, you may be using peer-to-peer AirPlay which implements discovery over Bluetooth (must be turned on on the iPad). The Bluetooth discovery is slower because it has to wait for responses. Connection may be slower too, because the devices implement a direct connection over an unused WiFi channel. 60 seconds is a little long, though.
