iPhone 6s power button not working after upgrade to iOS 10

I just upgraded my iPhone 6s 128 GB to iOS 10.0.1, and my power/sleep button ceased to work. No matter how many times it's pressed or held down, it does nothing. The screenshot functionality is also broken. Additionally, holding the home button for 3 seconds initiates a reset. Otherwise, phone seems to be working properly.

Yes, this solved it in a roundabout way. Pressing home and power until seeing the logo was the first thing I tried (forgot to mention that in the problem description), but after discovering that holding the home button for 3 seconds initiated a reboot without the power button I went looking for other answers. After your suggestion I held power and home through the appearance of the logo, and after about 20 seconds a screen appeared that said to plug the phone into a computer to restore via iTunes. iTunes said that it would restore it to 9.3.5, but it ended up restoring to 10.0.1 and everything seems ok (power button is functioning again). Thanks!
