Music skips randomly, songs start 20 seconds in

Hey,

Ever since I updated to iOS 10, I have a few problems with the music app when playing songs (through USB, Bluetooth, and the phone itself):

1. Songs start 20 seconds in when skipping track AND when ending the previous track.

2. Sometimes halfway through a song it'll skip to the next one

3. If I pick a song on the list it stars 17-21 seconds in about 80% of the time

4. If I have set start/stop times in iTunes they are ignored (i.e. ending a song early or starting a song after the intro)

These issues occur on my iPhone 6 after updating to iOS 10, and my iPhone 7

I Have this issue too. I have iOS 10.2 installed on iPhone 7. The pattern seems to be that it skips songs only when playing a playlist that is in shuffle mode. Doesn't happen when not shuffling and doesn't happen when not listening to a playlist Whether shuffling or not. Happens to playlists whether one I created or one Apple suggested. Only happens intermittently and only happens once when it does. Always seems to be toward the end of a song.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 7. It just started the other day and nothing I have tried so far has had any effect. I have noticed it is only when my headphones are plugged in. I primarily use Spotify to listen to music and I've noticed even when I have no apps open, it'll randomly start playing Spotify and start pausing/skipping songs at random. It also has done this when I have used Pandora and Amazon music.

I've been trying so many things for so long to get this to fix. I tried one thing last night, and it worked perfectly. At the very least, for one playlist.

I had been using the same music folder for Itunes to draw all of my music from, divided into artists and what not. Last night, I had read on other forums of dragging music to my desktop, and having itunes grab it from there. I didn't want to keep moving my songs around, so I moved it from the original folder I had it stored in, and put it in my "Itunes" folder under music. It fixed it. I think it might have to do with the location of the folder, and it is just not grabbing the information correctly.

I first exported the playlists I wanted, so I didn't have to hunt the music down again later. (File>Library>Export>Playlist while you're in the playlist you want to export)

Then, I got the album/artist's music that wasn't working correctly on my Iphone in the search bar on Itunes. Once I pulled the music up, I deleted all of the artist's music, or the album that wasn't functioning correctly.

I then cut the folder the song was in (Luckily I had the songs in folders, or this would be really tedious), and pasted it into my Itunes/media/music folder, and then re-added all of the folders I had just moved. (in this case, I moved four folders simultaneously.)

I imported my playlist again (File>Library>import>Playlist), and the music worked perfectly.

I don't post on forums often, if even at all, but I think since so many people had this issue, I REALLY hope this helps even one person out.

I have the same problem. I've performed the following steps to try to fix, to no avail:

1. Verified that the song start/stop times were not manually specified

2. Deleted all songs off my iPhone 7 and then resynced with my iTunes library

3. Deleted all songs from my iPhone library and then reimported to rebuild the library, and after complete deleted all songs off my iPhone 7 and resynced with my newly-rebuilt iTunes library.

The songs play with no issues on my laptop in iTunes; the issue only occurs when playing on either my iPhone 6 (standard, 128GB) or iPhone 7 (standard, 256 GB). I have not updated any other devices yet to iOS 10 due to this issue. It does appear to be an iOS 10 bug - on each device, the times at which the songs skip to the next message are consistent every time the song is played; however, that time is different for the same song on my iPhone 6 vs 7. If this was an issue with my songs, the skip time would be consistent across devices.

Hey, I have the same stupid problem. I contacted apple support and still have not heard back with any results. But what I noticed on my end is that when I shuffle ALL of the music, as opposed to a specific playlist - I don't have this problem. I know that does not help completely, but since it isn't likely that apple will address this issue... it's better than nothing, right? 🙂

I Have his problem too. First my USB wouldn't load up my phone in my car because I had no music on my phone Other than YouTube And Spotify. Now it works, since I added one song to my music library. However, now my Spotify isn't working correctly. Seems to be skipping songs within 2 seconds of playing. Tried all the Spotify troubleshooting and it didn't fix the problem.

This seems to only be an issue on Spotify for me as the feature to change tracks is available and working on the YouTube app but isn't skipping songs/videos for me. It does the same on Amazon Music.
