every time I reset iPhone5 it takes a screenshot

Whenever I reset my iPhone5 it takes a screenshot just before it powers off. Is there a way to fix this - or just to disable it? I have never needed to take a screenshot in the last five years. I also have all sounds turned off yet it makes a camera shutter noise, so I think this is a bug, rather than a 'quaint' new feature of iOS10

Are you sure you reset device in the proper way?

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

If this does not help, restore your device to factory settings. Note that this will erase the data from your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

Thanks for your help. I just looked up how to take a screenshot, and it is essentially the same as reset, except you do not hold the home button, you just press it to take a screenshot. I have never wanted to take a screenshot, so I was not aware how to do it. I have had six previous iPhones and this never happened before when I rest. So I guess Apple have given me a refurbished iPhone with a dodgy home button. (That's happened before).
