Norm, your answer to Lee (on September 21) is not exactly what goes down with the latest "update" in iTunes, nor does it address the real issue. While Drag-n-Drop is a nice feature, there is definitely a glitch with the other way. There is no "Play Later" option after you have chosen to play your initial album or song, and then want to add more after that. At least not at first. The "Play Later" option comes up is when you are choosing music BEFORE playing any, as detailed below:
"Play Later" Properly Working:
1. Choose an album or song you want to hear. (For reference, for an album, click the circle with the ellipse (...) or hover over the song and click the eclipse that appears to the right.)
2. Click and choose "Play Next." Do not play or click to play yet.
3. Continue adding music this way, but choose "Play Later" to add to the end of the queue.
"Play Later" not Properly Working:
The glitch comes when already having chosen an album or song AND playing it.
1. Choose an album or song you want to hear and click to play.
2. Choose another album or song you want to hear and click the ellipse. In this version, only "Play Next" appears and will place the song at the top of the queue. There is no "Play Later" option here.
3. Choose a third album or song. "Play Later" will appear.
Additionally, another glitch occurs here. In the glitch scenario directly above, when choosing one song from an album (versus the entire album) and playing it, iTunes will play the song but keep the remaining songs of that album in the queue, at the bottom. Glitched steps 2 and 3 occur. Once you are finished adding albums/songs and they play, iTunes will play the remaining songs from the first album you chose, unless you delete them.
This is super cumbersome! Just put both options from the start and let's avoid all this unnecessary analysis and frustration!
