Macbook Pro overheating because Mac OS Sierra

My Late 2014 MacBook pro 13 inch has been overheating since installing Sierra. At 10 minutes it is warmer than normal, at 20 minutes it is too hot to have on your lap. Opening and running a partition with el capitan does not cause overheating after an hour. Does anyone else have this problem? SMC Fan Control says it is running at 137 degrees fahrenheit.

Yes it is. I tried this in Safe mode when no 3rd party software is loaded and the same happened.

Then I figured out that disconnecting the external monitor from the Mini Display Port fixed the issue. Any time I connect my external monitor to the Mini Display Port kernel_task go crazy.

There you have.

So how does that indicate a Sierra installation problem? Try these:

Many of you are being unhelpful, if you have nothing helpful to say, please don't bother clogging up the thread. This issue is very real and very much a Sierra issue. I have worked on approx 10 MacBooks recently and have proven that the issue ( high temps, with fan running excessively to try to cool) replicates itself across machines. None of the notebooks exhibited the issue before upgrading to Sierra.

All of the fixes reported have not solve the issue for me, it simply seems that at present the new OS has some issues and that I do not think will be resolved until 10.12.1 which is due this month.

Sorry

I did not tell anyone what to say, I respectfully asked that if it was not pertinent not to clog up the thread.

I do want help and often use such forums for very helpful advice

The issue is caused by the Sierra upgrade and can be replicated so by association it is an Apple issue to investigate and resolve, either through communicative advice or mofication to their software. I am the recipient of the issue and I'm happy to process the resolution steps.

FYI, downgrading back to 10.11 does resolve the issue.

Has anyone had the issue from a clean install of Sierra?
