macOS Sierra installed ok, but keyboard and mouse freeze after brief usage. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm running a 17" MBP (late 2011) with 2.5GHz i7 CPU, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD for storage.

El Capitan worked fine and all the updates were applied.

The install of Sierra (production, not the beta) went without a hitch. However, after using Siri and a few other applications (which I closed) I opened and used Pages (also just upgraded).

After about 15 minutes, the bluetooth mouse froze, then the built in trackpad froze and the keyboard.

I gave it a few minutes in case it was clearing up. I accessed the pages document from my iPad and it updated on the MBP screen.

Eventually a hard restart with the power button was required.

I've had to restart twice this way, but was running a different application when it stopped on the earlier occasion.

Has anyone else had this happen?

How do I find out I'll be downloading 3.9.5.66? All I see in the details is on the "Post Day Oct 06, 2016" is just 3.9.5. The 3.9.5 I downloaded several days ago locked up everything on the mice of by Sierra iMac and MacBook Pro.

Hi jimr55555,

The version number is in the filename when you download it (lcc3.9.5.66.zip).

I've been running the system continuously for 26 hrs with no problems.

What crashsite2 said - but also if you've downloaded and your browser auto-unzips and leaves just the installer app, it's named LCC Installer.app. Do a command-I on it to get info, and the version number for the correction version is there as:

Logitech Control Center 3.9.5-66

I think the previous one (the first update that fixed scrolling for me but not the HID lockups) had a post day of September 22, and was 3.9.5-18

I believe this solved my problem too. I'm running a Logitec USB dongle mouse on an early 2011 MBP w and SSD, external monitor and keyboard. I was running LCC 3.9.3, no wonder I was having problems! 3.9.5 also fixed some scrolling problems. Thanks to all 🙂

I'll add an update here for anyone else coming back on the thread searching. Back on October 7 I installed the logitech control centre 3.9.5.66, and the crashes every day or two immediately stopped. It's now October 23, and I have a fifteen day uptime. Fixed it 🙂
