Ios 10 hard reset screen problem

Hi,

i'm using a gold 6s plus. After i upgraded my phone to ios 10 i started having screen problems. Normally when i hard reset my phone, the screen turns into dark black as it shuts down. But after ios 10 when i hard reset my phone the screen sometimes turns into gray, sometimes yellow (each time weird colors).I'm having this problem for 2 days. I have restored my phone many times in 2 days, but nothing has changed. I also consulted to Apple Service but they say that it's a problem that they have never withnessed. Lastly i realized that my wife's iphone has the same problem after ios 10.

I will appreciate if anyone can find a solution.

Same problem BUT I have found that the wierd colors is just a symptom.

I tried all of the following solutions:

  1. Hard reset - helped for a few minutes.
  2. Turning off predictive text and spell check - nothing.
  3. Reset keyboard dictionary - Nothing.
  4. Restore from backup - nothing.
  5. Added Swiftkey keyboard - works to type (thank you for the suggestion) BUT still laggy/freezing other places.
  6. Turn iCloud off - yes that works but I obviously do not have access to my Notes, Contacts, photos, or anything else that is stored n the cloud. So it is an iCloud issue?
  7. Updated to 10 on another one of my 8 devices I have that uses the same iCloud account. That is working for now BUT we will see after a few hours of use.

Hello,

I have the same issue. I contacted Apple, Apple Retail and various people in and around my network, the answer, we area all experiencing the same issue. I was informed that for now this so called issue is apart of iOS 10, Apple could or could not change how this works.

Overall, the issue does not affect how my iPhone works, no matter which iPhone model I have used. Hope this helps :-)

I just asked Apple Support on Twitter and here is what they said, " Thank you for reaching out to us. We're here to help. When you hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button, you're force restarting your device. This should only be done if your device is completely unresponsive and not be done often. Since this is not a normal means of restarting your device, your device may not behave normally and have different colored screens. "

Hope this helps !!! :)

Thank You for the reply. Hardcore reset I usually do when the phone is slow and I need to clear the cache memory and clear some RAM memory. Regardless of when to do it, the display of colors and "damaged screen look" shouldnot appear like earlier in IOS 9.

I dont know if I Should be worried with this random colors and lines showing up on my screen? Because its been a month I have started noticing a Black shadow appearing in the top left corner of the screen which is usually seen under a dark background. It very close to the mute button. Again am worried these display of colors and a small black shadow at the corner is all related or not? I have never dropped my phone and never in touch to water. Used very less and always in protective casing and totally scratchless.

Same problem here with iPhone 6s. The screen each time turns into various colors (grey, blue), partially or in whole, only upon hard reset and until the apple logo appears. Besides this, the phone is fully functional. After contacting Apple Premium Service Provider in Greece, I was informed that the problem is attributed to iOS 10.1 in conjunction with the phone's graphics card, which is forced restarted and, therefore, is depicting these strange colors. I guess we will have to wait for iOS 10.2 and hope the problem does not persist.

i ve got ip7 32gb gold one. So, i did a hard reset on the phone like a month ago. It provided weird color and lines all over the screen, when the phone got back to work, the screen started flickering, i restarted it, it was gone, but i had a sorta line in the right edge of the screen(line is like just brighter than the other part of screen). Anyone experiencing it? Anyone got a solution? Can it disapper with next ios?

Using an iPhone Space Gray 64GB AT&T and Yeah I agree have same issue did what Apple said not to do twice and well same issue. I looked this up to see if it was my phone only well lol it's not it's probably everyone's phone I really hope me and everyone else is heard by Apple and they give a quick fix especially if they want me to continue to buy there products like maybe an iPhone 7 in future or iPhone 8 iPad Mini 5 etc. because if this gets worse and they say well your out of warranty then I'll go get some other phone and say goodbye to Apple for a longtime. So please Apple fix this issue so I can continue to give you guys money for your amazing products;)
