Unlock with Apple Watch Not Working

Hello,

I am running a mid-2013 MacBook Air with macOS Sierra, with a 2nd Gen Apple Watch running watchOS3. I am on the same Apple ID for my Air, Watch, and iPhone (6S).

But, unlock with Apple Watch is not working on my Air. I have enabled 2 Factor Authentication. I have checked the box that enables unlock with Apple Watch. Everything seems to be kosher.

When I close and reopen my Air, "Unlocking with Apple Watch" appears for about 10 seconds, then I have to enter my password.

Help? Thanks!

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12), null

This did not work for me.

My problems started after my IT department mandated a password change, and after a successful password change, with Apple watch successfully unlocking the Mac, the Mac battery drain.

After rebooting the Mac, spend hours trying to log into the Mac, which initially rejected both my old and new password, and rejected my iCloud password initially.

Having fixed all that, using Apple Watch to unlock yields: ``"Unlocking with Apple Watch" appears for about 10 seconds, then I have to enter my password.''

I have an Early 2013 MBP and under Security and Pricacy I don't have the option listed to unlock with apple watch????

I have under Settings, General, Allow Handoff between this MAC and ICloud services marked and I have two-factor authentication activated.

I've rebooted my phone, watch and MPB in the order but still don't have the option in my Security menu. Am I missing something?

Thanks
