Bluetooth audio stuttering on Sierra

Is anyone experiencing bluetooth audio stuttering issues since upgrading to Sierra?

I'm on a Macbook Pro. Pairs fine but audio skips like a scratched C.D.

El Captain had no such issue.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12)

i have tried everything, reseting prom eprom, reseting bluetooth, changing bitrate, everything i could find on support...

the solution was: go to a store and buy USB bluetooth dongle (i bought the smallest i could find for 8$), plug it in and macbook automaticly shuts down onboard bluetooth and uses the new usb, after that music plays perfectly without any stutters at all!

This problem appeared in El Capitan (I think) when you have more than two Bluetooth devices connected. It took Apple a while to fix the problem, and when they released a fix for it, mine still stuttered until I deleted the keyboard and re-paired it. I haven't had a problem since.

Irncpl's solution may also serve the same purpose.

When will apple learn to update the OS without breaking basic things like bluetooth that used to work perfectly in the old version of OS?

Stuff happens when you rewrite the Bluetooth code to make integration with iOS much better.

Well, what I did was a clean install of Sierra, but I did not remove and re-pair the bluetooth devices (I use keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Bose qc35 headphones). Now I followed your advice and re-paired all devices, and rebooted (tricky since I had to dug up a wired keyboard and learn how to press onscreen buttons with spacebar! - Apple just works, isn't it? =)

All is well for now, but time will tell, since from my observation, bluetooth audio in Sierra works fine after reboot, but some time later the stuttering reappears. Fingers crossed and thank you for your suggestion. I still think Apple needs to do more thorough testing before shipping their "improvements"!

No luck, the stuttering is back. To sum up: I am using a clean install of Mac OS Sierra. All bluetooth devices were removed and re-paired. The bluetooth module was reset multiple times (via the Shift+Alt+click on the bluetooth icon and by choosing reset from the debugging menu). No luck with all this tinkering, bluetooth audio is still broken for me in Sierra. It clearly interferes with the Magic Mouse, the cursor starts skipping and jumping together with the stuttering audio. I am attempting to use Mac wireless keyboard, Magic Mouse and Bose QC-35 bluetooth headphones. Note that my bluetooth hardware is fine, since it used to work alright under El Capitan, and works fine for some time after booting the computer with Sierra. After some time, probably after some sleep-wake cycles audio begins stuttering.

I was experiencing this exact issue like many others. After troubleshooting with support, I found that my issue was resolved by resetting the SMC and rebooting into safe mode (press/hold Shift after boot chime), then rebooting again normally. I also reset the PRAM, but that had no apparently effect. I did not attempt to reset the NVRAM, nor did I try resetting the BT module.

So, I've just got off the phone with Apple Support having formally logged a support call. Took a while but got to the stage where I was able to supply them some data. If you have not already done so, you should log the problem with Apple Support. I should have done so sooner but having had an 'informal' call from California I was waiting to see if there would be a fix in the next update. Does not appear to be a fix in the forthcoming update so perhaps there are not too many people experiencing the problem, or reporting the problem.
